Meet The Doire Calgach Singers

The Doire Calgach Singers is a mixed voice, cross-community, cross-border choir based in Derry in Northern Ireland. We are an amateur group which exists to sing and entertain. Our HMRC Registered Charities Reference number is: XR 26250. We have a written Constitution under which we elect a seven member Management Committee annually. Our Musical Director, Trevor Burnside, is an eighth and ex-officio member of the Committee.

We aim for the highest standards in what we do. Our usual public performances are in concerts and recitals for charitable organisations. We have had at least one spot in The City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival every year since 2005. We also sing by request at weddings and funerals.

This choir is not just about singing and entertaining. We also enjoy a great social life together. We take every opportunity to have a party and often arrange weekend trips where we usually have good fun. After every practice several members meet in The Clarendon Bar, Derry, for a bit of craic.  Concerts are usually followed by a relaxing get-together in a local hostelry.
